Customised Training Pty Ltd is currently awaiting approval to deliver government funded training in 2010 through the Apprenticeship Traineeship Training Program (ATTP) and the Priority Education and Training Program (PETP). All training delivered under these programs is done so with funding made available by the Government of Victoria.
TRAINEESHIPS Traineeships are an excellent stepping stone for people (trainees) to gain employment, skills and qualifications all at the same time. They provide the opportunity for both young and mature age people to contribute to an organisation through the development of practical skills and knowledge. Because of the on-the-job training together with the academic training, it means that traineeships provide real benefits to your business due to the practical skills being implemented as soon as they are taught / learnt.
Customised Training is extremely flexible in the way in which they design the training for traineeships, so that they are appropriate to a wide range of industries and occupations. Delivery of training can be undertaken in a variety of modes to suit the employer and workplace. Customised Training can deliver traineeship training in blocks, on-the-job, off-the-job in the classroom, and a combination of on-the-job and off-the-job. Often if distance is a problem, we utilise a combination of distance learning, trainer led learning, with some on-the-job and off-the-job training in an enhanced delivery mode. Trainees upon the successful completion of the traineeship will receive a nationally recognised qualification.
Under the Australian Apprenticeship Scheme there are two types of Traineeships, these are called New Worker Traineeships (for new employees) and Existing Worker Traineeships (existing employees).
Traineeship - New Worker All training delivered under this traineeship is fully funded by the Victorian State Government through the Office of Training and Tertiary Education (OTTE). In accordance with OTTE’s fees and charges policy all trainees must pay an enrolment fee.
To be eligible staff must: • be new to the workplace; • work a minimum of 13 hours per week; • have not worked more than 3 months full time (within a 1 year period) or 12 months part-time (within an 2 year period) with their current employer.
All levels of the qualification framework from Certificate II through to Advanced Diploma are available under this traineeship. For a list of nationally recognised qualifications that Customised Training is accredited to deliver please click here.
Traineeship - Existing Worker Existing staff may also be able to undertake a traineeship, provided they meet certain criteria. To be eligible, staff must have been employed with their current employer for more than 3 months full-time or 12 months part-time and must meet additional eligibility criteria. Whilst there is no funding from the State Government for training, employers may be eligible to receive Commonwealth Employer Incentives. For more information the benefits of training your existing staff please click here.
All Traineeships can be conducted on either a full-time or part-time basis and are dependant upon meeting certain eligibility criteria. Financial incentives are also available to encourage employers to employ Trainees. These incentives are provided by the Commonwealth Government and are again subject to eligibility criteria. Only an Australian Apprenticeship Centre (AAC) can determine the eligibility of employees for a Traineeship and Commonwealth Employer Incentives.
